Lenny Krayzelburg

Lenny Krayzelburg is a four-time Olympic gold medalist, having competed in the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. He also served as team captain of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Swim Team. In May 2011,his swimming career was truly complete when he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Krayzelburg is also a member of the International Jewish Hall of Fame and the University of Southern California Hall of Fame.

Lenny was born in Odessa, Ukraine. After spending his childhood in the former Soviet Union, his family immigrated to the United States to escape Soviet Jewish anti-Semitism and settled in Los Angeles. Lenny’s journey is the ultimate success story—an immigrant who came to a new land, worked hard, overcame obstacles, and found exactly what he hoped for: the American Dream.

In 2005, following his retirement, Krayzelburg launched the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy in Los Angeles, CA. This year-round swim program welcomes children as young as three months old and is built on his proprietary teaching curriculum, the SwimRight® Method. At the end of 2018, the company was rebranded as SwimRight Academy, Championed by Lenny Krayzelburg. The Academy currently owns three locations—two in Los Angeles and one in Miami—and has long-standing licensing partnerships in Boston, Dallas, and New York.

Bringing the same passion and drive to his business ventures as he did to his swimming career, Lenny has become a successful entrepreneur. He has diversified his business interests by partnering with startups across various industries, including a men’s health clinic and a healthcare company offering CPR, First Aid, and lifeguard certification courses. His most recent venture includes co-owning an events company that organizes and manages open water races under the Oceanman Global brand. Lenny was also as general managers of LA Current, part of the world’s first global professional swim league, the International Swimming League (ISL).

Krayzelburg is committed to giving back and serves on the board of Tikva Children’s Home, which cares for homeless, abandoned, and abused Jewish children in Ukraine and other parts of the former Soviet Union. He is also a board member of the American Friends of the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled, a unique facility that provides physical and psychological support for children and adults with disabilities through sports. Additionally, he serves as Treasurer of the Michael Phelps Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting healthy, active lives for children by increasing access to the sport of swimming.

Lenny is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he majored in finance and business administration.
